Following in the footsteps of Steel City natives Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa, Jasiri is the latest Pittsburgh rapper to achieve national attention. Jasiri brings a socially conscious message to his music, delivering hard-hitting edutainment in the tradition of hip-hop greats from Public Enemy to dead prez.

He has appeared on Katie Couric, MSNBC, CNN; KGO 7Live, radio stations around the country, Howard University, Cal Berkeley, SF State, San Jose State, East Bay State, Saint Mary’s College and most Junior College and high schools throughout the Bay area and many more around the country.

Front man of the “true school” hip hop group Channel Live, he is an artist, manager, A&R consultant, lecturer, educator and visionary. His group Channel Live, was discovered by the legendary KRS-One and debuted in 1994 with the platinum, Hip Hop anthem “Mad Izm,” which was followed with the gold-status album “Station Identification.”

After the Watts Riots of August 1965, my family and I returned to Queens, N.Y. in 1966. Retired from Delta Air Lines in 2006 after 32 years of employment. Ron Davis, founded The Jordan Davis Foundation to assist youth across the nation to realize their potential and create a legacy for my son.
